About Me

Toyin Oyedele

Independent Contractor

Over 10 years experience in temporary work and independent contracting.

My mission is to equip women with the tools and confidence to take control of their professional lives.

It can be done!

Hi, I’m Toyin, it’s nice to meet you!

I’ve been engaged in contracting for almost a decade and I am more passionate about it now than I did when I first started. Being an independent contractor is the happy medium between full time employment and the flexibility to tailor your work to your preferences.

I started my career in the early 2000’s working in very big and well known companies. While the experience was enjoyable, it lacked autonomy. I was told where to go, when to go and how it should be done. I felt trapped, and needed to find something that would provide a good income but also give me more freedom.

About me

Initially, the prospect of venturing out independently was somewhat daunting, I wasn’t comfortable in the confines of being an employee but there was a level of security I felt I had. Nevertheless, taking this risk proved immensely rewarding!

Within a year of embracing contracting, I surpassed the total earnings from all my prior temporary and permanent positions. My professional journey has spanned diverse industries, from magazine publishing and insurance to communications specialists. Contracting has not only opened doors but has also granted me numerous fulfilling experiences that would have otherwise escaped me.

About me

I’ve heard many stories of women missing out on promotions, bonuses and opportunities to advance in their careers especially after childbirth. It would probably come as no surprise to you that women carry a bigger portion of childcare – still! We’re also more likely, as a result, to transition out of paid full time work due to the demands of our families.

For me, contracting for women is a no-brainer. Flexibility, ownership, control and great pay all with the luxury of choosing when you want to work, how much you want to be paid and control over what you want to do – all without having to changing your specialism.

Sounds like a great deal to me.
